About Otsego Lake

Cooperstown is situated at the Southern end of Otsego Lake, also known as "Glimmerglass" in the stories of James Fenimore Cooper.  Otsego is a glacial lake, formed during the last ice age. It is about nine miles long, the widest point is about one mile, and the deepest point is more than 160 feet.
