Susquehanna Bass Association
The Susquehanna Bass Association is a bass club based in Oneonta, NY. We have approximately 70 members from across the central New York region. The club was formed in 1987, and fishes regular bass tournaments every week or two from June through the end of October. We fish in two-person teams, usually with a five-fish limit.

The annual Art and Nate VanSteenburg Memorial Classic was held on Otsego Lake on October 17 and Canadarago on the 18th. The first day was brutal; cold and with a strong NW wind that had us all fighting the waves. Despite the conditions, most brought in five-fish limits. Day two was even colder, starting out below freezing, but with a light wind and mostly sunny skies was much more comfortable, again with most teams bringing limits to the scales. The team of Bill Smith and John Irons took the win with a two-day weight of 38.67 lb.

Congratulations to Kevin McGibney, who won Susquehanna Bass Association Angler of the Year for the second year in a row! In his best eight tournaments he had a weight of 158.5 lb. With the help of his partners (Kyle Patrick, Ryan Jones, Gary Jones) he took first place three times (Cross, Oneida and Canadarago Lakes) second place three times (Otsego, Cayuga and Onondaga lakes) and third place on Otisco. He had five-fish limits in all nine tournaments that he fished, and all his fish were released alive.
