The Susquehanna Bass Association is a bass club based in Oneonta, NY. We have approximately 70 members from across the central New York region. The club was formed in 1987, and fishes regular bass tournaments every week or two from June through the end of October. We fish in two-person teams, usually with a five-fish limit.

The sixth tournament of the 2022 season, held on Cayuga Lake on August 14 was another tough one. Of the 19 boats that competed, only seven were able to bring in a five-fish limit. However, many of the fish that were brought in were big. The winning team of Matt Ford and Mike Ellis had two fish over 6 pounds and a total of 22.83 lb, which was just 0.25 lb less than the club record (set only three weeks ago). Matt also had the big fish at 6.45 lb, which is the biggest fish of the season so far, and the big smallmouth at 4.05 lb. See results and standings for more details.
The next tournament will be on Cross Lake, August 28, from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Winners, Matt Ford and Mike Ellis
Congratulations to Jim O'Brien and Jim O'Brien, Jr., Susquehanna Bass Association Anglers of the Year. They had a total of 122.61 lb. (after dropping their lowest two weights). Their impressive season included three first place finishes. They also placed second once, third three times, and ended the three-season streak of Matt and Rich Ford (who came in second this year, only 10 lb. behind the O'Briens).
